Gamers are in for big delights at the upcoming Games Convention Asia (GCA) 2007, which will witness three major gaming highlights courtesy of Electronic Arts (EA) Singapore, the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) game consoles.

Singapore, August 27, 2007 — It will be games, games and more games at the Games Convention Asia (GCA) 2007. Gamers of all ages can look forward to enjoying the thrilling gameplay of plenty of game titles at the GCA 2007.

GCA 2007 is organised by Conference and Exhibition Management Services (CEMS).

Electronic Arts, the leading games publisher, will have a major presence at the exhibition, displaying game titles for all major platforms.

Console gamers will be thrilled by the official launch of the phenomenal Nintendo Wii game console, as well as the Sony showcase of the latest developments in the PlayStation world.

Mr Steven Tan, Senior Exhibition Manager of CEMS said: “It is our pleasure to have garnered the support from these 3 big industry players in GCA’07, despite this being the first show. Their support is very crucial to the fledging games industry in Asia. The wide range of offerings that cater to both gamers and the general public, will cement GCA-07 as the premier gaming convention and exhibition in the Asia Pacific region.

“We are also pleased to have with us Nokia NGage, Blizzard Entertainment, AMD, 10tacle Studios, Razer, Asiasoft (a local online games distributor of War of Warcraft, Pangya and Maplestory) and many other game companies’ presence at GCA’07.”

Electronic Arts

The hottest and coolest games from Electronic Arts will be on show at GCA 2007, so gamers who have eagerly been tracking these titles since the E3 event in July will get an opportunity to try many of these titles out.

Keep your fingers crossed (and on the trigger buttons) for blockbusters that include the popular soccer game, FIFA 08 —appearing on just about every game console you might own — and Rock Band, a musical game that will come with special controllers in the shape of guitars and drums.

EA Console Titles:

Army of Two (PS3, Xbox 360)

Boogie (Wii)

Burnout Paradise (PS3, Xbox 360)

EA Playground (Wii, DS)

FIFA 08 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PC, PSP, DS)

Half-Life 2: The Orange Box (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Medal of Honor Airborne (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (PS3, Xbox 360)

MySims (Wii, DS)

NASCAR 08 (PS3, Xbox 360, PS2)

Need For Speed: ProStreet (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PC, PSP, DS)

Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360)

The Simpsons (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS)

Skate (PS3, Xbox 360)

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PC)

EA PC Titles:

Crysis

Hellgate: London

Medal of Honor Airborne

SimCity Societies (PC)

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08

But watch out for mobile and online games offerings from EA.

Mr Chris Thompson, EA’s vice president and general manager of Asia Publishing, said: “But we will have more focus on online, mobile and console/PC products that are more applicable to this region.”

EA is using the GCA as a platform to reach out and work with new partners.

Said Mr Thompson: “EA Asia is the largest entertainment software company in the region, excluding Japan. With offices in 8 countries, we offer the widest on-the-ground coverage and expertise of any company. Our knowledge of the market is very strong, and we offer co-publishing, distribution and publishing solutions to partner companies.”

Nintendo Wii

MAxSoft, the official distributor of Nintendo products in Singapore, will be officially launching the Nintendo Wii game console that has taken the world by storm.

The Wii uses a revolutionary, motion-sensing game controller that requires gamers to swing, poke and move about in order to play — no more sitting down and passively pushing buttons on a controller.

In other words, the old ”button mashing” stereotype of console gaming has been debunked by Nintendo’s new approach.

Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3)

Sony will be showcasing the latest developments for the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Sony PlayStation Portable game consoles.

About Games Convention
The Leipzig Games Convention was first held in 2002. It is expected that the Games Convention will continue to grow in stature and become even more important in 2007 and beyond.

The Leipziger Messe has named this year’s winners of Best of GC, the fifth time the distinction has been awarded. The awards were made to nine products at a press conference. A total of 85 hardware and software titles in ten categories were submitted by exhibitors at the GC - Games Convention.

The awards were made for the following:

In the PC category: Crysis (Electronic Arts GmbH)

Jury: “Developed in Germany, CRYSIS is an exciting, futuristic battle against alien invaders. The CryENGINE 2 sets a new technological standard, with breathtaking special effects. Intelligent opponents represent a challenge to even the most experienced gamers.”

In the Xbox category: BioShock (Take 2 Interactive GmbH)

Jury: “Underwater survival in a sunken Art Deco city, countering crazy inhabitants, and constantly faced with the dilemma of what is right and what is wrong: “BioShock” is the most intelligent, most bizarre shooter for years.”

In the PSP category: God of War: Chains of Olympus (Sony Computer Entertainment GmbH)

Jury: “‘God of War’ elevates the action genre to an art form, including on the PlayStation Portable: where other titles descend into brutish slaughter, God of War lends the battlefield a sombre beauty.”

In the PS2 category: Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH)

Jury: “Once again, PES 2008 sets new standards as far as game play is concerned: the long-distance shots crackle, the one-on-ones are even more intensive and the opponents adapt to the style of play.”

In the PS3 category: Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH)

Jury: “Football is coming home: the best current football game celebrates its PS3 premiere with diving, wall building and complete online support - including leagues and rankings.”

In the Wii category: Mario & Sonic bei den Olympischen Spielen (SEGA Germany GmbH)

Jury: “We finally discover who can run faster and jump higher. The game unites the former archrivals from Sega and Nintendo, renewing the old feud in the form of a sporting contest. Mario and Sonic manage to translate Olympic disciplines into easily mastered, entertaining games fun.”

In the NDS category: Eye Training (Nintendo of Europe GmbH)

Jury: “Open your eyes and train like a top sportsman! Eye Training trains hand-eye co-ordination, reflexes, visual acuity - and is great fun as well. A non-prescription DS game to be taken daily.”

In the Online category: Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures (Eidos GmbH)

Jury: “Finally, an online role-play game for adults. Set in the world of the Barbarians, the adventure combines offline and online game experiences for the first time. Age of Conan could present a challenge to World of Warcraft.”

In the Best Hardware Accessory Product category: Wii Balance Board (Nintendo of Europe GmbH)

Jury: “Press-ups, headers and aerobics: Nintendo manages to combine video games with physical fitness and bring them closer to a new audience. Having already converted the remote control into a controller, the manufacturer now turns scales into a games accessory.”

In the category Mobile:
No prize was awarded in this category due to a lack of participants.

The title of “Best of GC” is awarded each year by the GC - Games Convention for the most outstanding product performances of the computer and video game sector. GC exhibitors were able to submit their nominations for the categories of Hardware Accessories and Best Game PC, Xbox 360, PSP, PS2, PS3, Wii, NDS, Mobile and Online by 01 August 2007. Participation was open to all companies exhibiting playable products at the GC, the launch of which was not planned before the beginning of the convention.

Novel Inspired Turn Based Adventure Launches as a Free Download for PSP Users

NextGenBooks.com and bestselling author Darren Reid today launch a free game download for PlayStation Portable based upon the author’s forthcoming fantasy epic. The Half Broken Crown: Battle Kingdoms!! is a turn based adventure game that pits players against a host of monsters, thieves, villains and heroes. As players level up and improve their skill level new quests and adventures will be opened up to play.

In July NextGenBooks.com launched a free online point and click fantasy adventure, The Half Broken Crown: The Broken Kingdoms which has proved a Turn based adventure game available as a free dohit with casual gamers across the world. Since its launch PSP users have requested a stripped downloadable version to play offline. Rather stripping down an existing game the game developer has instead opted to create an entirely new adventure for PSP gamers.

Battle Kingdoms!! is a pick up and play adventure that anyone can learn in just a few seconds. Based around classic turn-based RPG combat players must level up in order to progress through new stages and face new enemies. An online version of this game will also be released for PC, Mac, Wii and PS3 gamers to enjoy through their respective browsers. Future updates are currently being considered including the possibility of adding peer-to-peer combat to the online version.
Battle Kingdoms!! can be downloaded for the PSP or played online from www.NextGenBooks.com/battlekingdoms.

About NextGenBooks.com and Darren Reid: In mid 2006 bestselling fantasy author Darren launched his free ebook library, a pioneering collection of free literature formatted and optimized for PCs, Macs, iPods and videogame consoles and handhelds. The success of this initial projected quickly led to the establishment of NextGenBooks.com, a website whose principle aim is to bring fantasy and science fiction narratives to a new game-orientated audience. Since its establishment NextGenBooks.com has released free titles from authors such as D.A. Adams, Kim Silva, Kyrinn S. Eis and D.W. Goyette along with interactive adventures from founding author Darren Reid including the Wizard of Oz prequel The Sword of Oz and a series of spin-off titles of Reid’s own novels, brining these narratives to a whole new audience. NextGenBooks.com is currently readying its most ambitious project, Black Sun (details TBA), for a late 2007 release.

EA and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) are this year’s presenting partners for the only FIFA-sanctioned global interactive football challenge

Chertsey, UK, 23 August 2007 — FIFA, the world’s governing body of football, Electronic Arts Inc (NASDAQ: ERTS) and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced the new season of the FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC), the world’s only officially FIFA sanctioned global football gaming competition. Sony joins EA as new presenting partner for the tournament, in which participants from around the world compete with EA SPORTS FIFA 08 on the PlayStation®3 (PS3™). The FIWC launches with a new format, designed as a season-long experience mirroring the real world of football. The announcement was made today at the Leipzig Games Convention.

The fourth edition of the FIWC kicks off in October 2007 and will culminate in the Grand Final in Berlin’s Sony Centre in May 2008. This year, players can compete at one of more than 20 physical FIWC 08 Qualifier Events across the globe or online via the PLAYSTATION®Network in over 25 countries. In May 2008, 32 finalists will compete to be crowned FIFA Interactive World Player, rewarded with an invitation to the FIFA World Player Gala along with a USD 20,000 cash prize. Registration opens today at www.FIFA.com/FIWC

“To be associated with the world’s leading games publisher, EA, and one of the most respected organizations in the world, FIFA, is very exciting for us,” said Simon Rutter, VP Sales & Marketing for SCEE. “With the added realism that PS3 brings to FIFA 08, we have every belief that now is the time to truly make an impact with the FIFA Interactive World Cup. We’re looking forward to PS3 fans helping to make the tournament every bit as iconic for gamers as the real FIFA World Cup is for football fans.”

Matt Bilbey, Senior Director, Sports Marketing, EA said “The FIFA Interactive World Cup has become a firm fixture in the diaries of many football fans and gamers around the world and we’ll be there to bring them a season full of great competition with FIFA 08 on the PlayStation 3. With FIFA 08, EA Sports is delivering the sensations of being on the real FIFA World Cup football pitch, so football gamers in every geography better start practicing!“

“The FIFA Interactive World Cup is a great way to bring together football gamers and the wider football community. With the introduction of the new format, we have taken yet another big step towards establishing the FIFA Interactive World Cup as the world’s leading football gaming competition, just like the FIFA World Cup is for football on the field of play”, says FIFA Executive-Member Chuck Blazer.

EA SPORTS™ FIFA 08 for the PLAYSTATION3 offers a football experience that matches the complexity, finesse and beauty of the real-world game. FIFA 08 features a new, organic building-block system that enables players to combine tricks and skill moves together to recreate signature moves from the real-world superstars or define their own style of play.
In addition, FIFA 08 features a true next-generation ball-striking engine that re-creates the drama and unpredictable nature of shooting, the award-winning Interactive Leagues online gameplay and the inclusion of 620 licensed teams, 30 leagues, and more than 15,000 players.

Leipzig, 22 August 2007. At its Press Conference at Games Convention today, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) made a series of announcements that demonstrated the strength and innovation of the PlayStation® family of products in the SCEE territory.

The announcements of gaming and broader entertainment services for all the PlayStation entertainment platforms included the launch of a TV Tuner and PVR software for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™), the introduction of a Video Download Service for PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) in conjunction with British Sky Broadcasting (Sky), a voice chat, video chat and instant messaging service for PSP developed with BT, and the launch of a state of the art satellite navigation accessory for PSP. Amongst a host of software announcements was the launch of Buzz™: Quiz TV, the PS3 version of the popular quiz game, which offers a variety of quiz channels on every subject, plus online challenges, downloadable question packs and opportunities to share and play bespoke user generated quizzes. Launch dates for the eagerly awaited Gran Turismo™5 Prologue were announced and a new video and playable demo of the PS3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was shown by Konami.

PS3 - TRULY THE HUB OF FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT

Proving PS3’s credentials as the centre of the family’s home entertainment needs, SCEE unveiled ‘PlayTV’’, a TV Tuner and PVR accessory for PS3 that is set to revolutionise the home entertainment market in Europe. The twin channel, High Definition TV tuner and PVR software turns the PS3 into a state of the art TV recorder, allowing users to watch, pause and record live TV. With seamless connectivity to PSP, ‘PlayTV’’ allows you to set recordings, watch live TV and recorded TV programmes remotely on the PSP via a WiFi connection, or quickly transcode recorded TV shows for high quality viewing to the PSP by USB cable for remote viewing away from the home.

GO! ENTERTAINMENT BRAND FOR PSP

In addition to confirming the 5th of September as the launch date for the new slim and light PSP in Europe, and introducing two new colours to the new PSP lineup – Simpsons Yellow and Spiderman Red, SCEE today introduced a host of new services for their Go! Entertainment brand for PSP.

Designed to represent the best in non gaming services and features for PSP, the Go! Brand was launched with a fanfare of three new services that will make PSP the most desirable handheld entertainment device, bar none.

A Go! branded Video Download Service will launch in early 2008, and will be the first official PSP video download service anywhere in Europe. Developed in conjunction with Sky, it will allow several million PSP owners in UK and Ireland to turn their PSP into a personalised library of programmes to enjoy whenever and wherever they choose. Unlike lesser services, the Video Download Service will feature a vast selection of high quality entertainment. With content from Sky’s existing multi channel offering and support from a whole range of third party content owners, PSP owners will be able to subscribe to dedicated Sports, Entertainment and Animation packages as well as watch premier content on a pay per view basis.

Go!Messenger is a new voice chat, video chat and instant messaging service, scheduled for rollout throughout the SCEE territories in the New Year. Developed in conjunction with BT, Go! Messenger places a small application on PSP’s XMB™ (XrossMediaBar), which when downloaded separately from the web and installed to the Memory Stick™ *, allows users to voice chat, video chat and instant message each other using VOIP from any WiFi hot spot.

Go!Explore is a satellite navigation product for the PSP that uses the GPS receiver accessory. Go!Explore is a fully functional, state of the art satellite navigation tool for PSP, incorporating both vehicle and pedestrian functionality, the very latest in three dimensional mapping technology and over 100 different categories of overlays for such things as speed cameras, petrol stations and restaurants. Launching in the new year, Go!Explore will make the perfect accessory for the PSP owner with wanderlust.

GAMES, GAMES AND MORE GAMES

At the Press Conference, David Reeves, President of SCEE announced that, together with its third party publishing partners, SCEE planned to release more than 275 new titles across the PlayStation platforms in the run up to Christmas.

A total of 62 software titles were planned for PS3 before the end of the year, including such eagerly awaited titles as Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank® Future: Tools of Destruction™ and Uncharted™: Drake’s Fortune. For PSP, 74 titles were scheduled for release by year end, including the latest titles from established IPs such as WipEout™, Pursuit Force™ and Syphon Filter™. PlayStation 2, which was still showing incredible growth given its seventh year on sale, would enjoy over 139 titles. For the PLAYSTATION®Network more than 22 titles were on track for a pre-Christmas release, including Warhawk™, WipEout HD and Grand Turismo 5 Prologue, the latest iteration of the best-selling racing game of all time.

Download service to revolutionise handheld entertainment

Leipzig, 22 August 2007. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today provided more information on its joint venture with British Sky Broadcasting (Sky) to offer PSP™ (PlayStation® Portable) owners in the UK and Ireland the opportunity to watch video on demand and on the move.

The Go! branded Video Download Service will launch in early 2008, and will be the first official PSP video download service anywhere in Europe. It will allow millions of PSP owners to turn their device into a personalised library of programmes to enjoy whenever and wherever they choose.

Unlike other services, the Video Download Service will launch with a rich selection of high quality entertainment. The choice of programmes available will include a diverse mix of Sky content, spanning sports, entertainment, movies, music and animation. In addition to a selection of some of the best content from its own channels, Sky plans to work with third-party channel brands and content owners to create an even more comprehensive service. This is the first time Sky will offer video content through a non-Sky branded service.

The very latest premier movies and high profile sporting events, normally only available to Sky subscribers will be available on a pay per view basis, allowing users to choose their preferred way of using the download service.

Customers will be able to download their choice of programmes direct to their PSP via a Wi-Fi connection or, alternatively, transfer content that they’ve downloaded to their PC.

As the content and technology partner in the venture, Sky will provide content and develop a user interface which is specifically tailored for the PSP’s broad audience. This content will also draw upon the high-quality screen experience offered by the portable device. In building on this tailored content, SCEE will use its marketing expertise to reach out to PSP owners and launch the new brand.

James Murdoch, Chief Executive Officer, BSkyB, adds: “Sky and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have complementary strengths in content, marketing and technology. Together, we’re ideally placed to make portable, on-demand TV a reality. Alongside our existing services for PCs and mobile phones, this is another example of how we’re working to give more choice, flexibility and control to customers.

DESCRIPTION

Thrillville™: Off the Rails™ amps up the family-friendly mix of gameplay that made Thrillville the best-selling original children’s intellectual property of 2006 with some of the most outlandish roller-coaster concepts ever imagined, as well as new ways to talk to park guests and a new array of carnival games.

Off the Rails lives up to its name with 20 death-defying rides so outrageous, they inspire the same word from every park visitor who sees them: “WHOA!” Players build these incredible “WHOA Coasters” to leap from one track to another, launch through the air like cannonballs, blast through a burning rings of fire and more.

A new lighthearted story ties together more than 100 missions, complete with 34 playable multiplayer theme-park games and social interaction with park guests that’s better than ever. whips it around in a full circle, then sets it down on the other side.
o Escape Drop: The track holds the car stationary as it lifts itself from
level ground to a full 90-degree drop. Then it lets go.
• Visit 15 themed areas, like Battleville, Winterville, Spaceville and Aeroville, all spread throughout five new parks.
